The Regina Maria Health Network is consolidating its presence in the West region of the country by taking over one of the most important medical imaging service providers from Timis county, Radio Imaging Centers Dr. Birsasteanu and Telescan, which has five specialized units.

This new acquisition comes after, in the second half of 2018, Regina Maria announced the takeover of the Pozimed centers in Constanta, as well as four Hiperdia centers located in Arad, Orastie and Cluj. With the rapid expansion in the west of the country, the private medical service operator targets regional leadership, especially imaging services, but also maintains a high level of medical expertise and quality of medical treatment.

The first radio-imaging center, Dr. Radulescu, was founded in 2007 and was the first to offer the option of sending images between doctors for a second medical opinion. At present, the Radioimaging Centers Dr. Birsasteanu and Telescan has five radiology and imaging clinics, three of them in Timisoara, one in Lugoj and one in Sannicolau Mare. The centers offer patients access to a wide range of medical services, including MRI, computer tomography, ultrasound and radiography. These services now come in addition to those offered locally by the Regina Maria Health Network in its five clinics and two laboratories.

“National expansion is one of Regina Maria’s priorities, which will materialize both organically and through acquisitions, just like it has before. We are looking for partners that provide a special medical expertise, well-known at the local level for the high training of the team of specialists – as is the case here. We remain constantly concerned with providing patients across the country with access to the best integrated and interdisciplinary health services. We have entered the medical market in Timisoara more than three years ago and we are glad that in this period we have consolidated our local footprint. Continuous investments have helped us to ensure full coverage of medical needs, and now, for the first time in Timisoara, Regina Maria will provide its patients with imaging services,” said Fady Chreih, CEO of Regina Maria Health Network .

The Radio Spectrum Centers Dr. Birsasteanu and Telescan have a team of 60 employees, completing the year 2018 with a total turnover of over EUR 1.7 million. The quality of the medical act is ensured by both the professional training and the vast experience of doctors, as well as by the high-end facilities in newly purchased equipment such as the MRI 1.5T and CT 128 slices GE.

“The Radiomagistic Centers Dr. Birsasteanu and Telescan were born out of the desire to give Timisoara a place where health is properly valued and where the patient is really at the heart of all our activities. We have found in the Health Network Regina Maria a partner with shared values that shares both this desire and the standards of quality and excellence that have guided us so far. I trust that the partnership that has begun now will be a successful one that will support the development of the centers and will benefit primarily patients. Our team is made up of specialist doctors, renowned primary doctors, medical doctors with impressive professional experience. Along with them and relying on the performance equipment in the centers, we ensure that we continue our commitment to the patients,” said Dr. Florin Birsasteanu, founder of Radio Spectrum Centers Dr. Birsasteanu and Telescan, President of the Society Romanian Radiology and Medical Imaging.

The Regina Maria Health Network brings together over 5,200 employees and collaborators in their 63 locations in Bucharest and across the country. Regina Maria has gained its leading position on the Romanian medical market due to the quality of the services offered and the number of medical units through which it serves over 2.8 million patients. At the same time, Regina Maria has a portfolio of over 500,000 medical subscriptions. In figures, the Regina Maria Health Network means: 63 of its own locations, 6 hospitals, 4 day care hospitals, 3 maternities, 8 medical campuses, 26 imaging centers, 33 analysis laboratories, own stem cell bank and more 290 partner clinics in the country.
