Painting by Tonitza, auctioned for EUR 17,000

The painting “Cafenea la Balcic” by Romanian painter Nicolae Tonitza was sold for EUR 17,000 in an auction organized by ArtMark.

Another painting by Tonitza, “Chip de tataroaica”, was sold for EUR 14,000. A similar price was obtained for the painting “Venetia” by Nicolae Durascu. Another painting by Durascu, “Natura static”, was auctioned for EUR 10,000.

“Tataroaica cu basma”, another painting signed by Tonitza, was not sold. The price expectations stood in the EUR 20,000 – EUR 35,000 band.
