Legal Accelerators is an on-line conference, the first of its kind in Romania, on the digitalization of the legal services in Romania.  The event will be held on line on 26-27th of November 2020. The Romanian legal market is estimated to be worth over 200 million euro but is still lagging behind in embracing new technologies. Amid this, Cărăbaș and Associates, one of the most dynamic boutique law firms in Cluj-Napoca put together a two-day international conference in which over 30 international legal and IT experts, researchers and academics will explore the latest developments in legal-related applications, AI in legal services, cybersecurity and data protection, blockchain etc.

The conference and the adjacent exhibition was due to be held in Cluj-Napoca , but the current pandemic forced the organizers to move it on line, on a dedicated fair platform so that the speakers, exhibitors and public may enjoy a as closer to reality experience as possible, with exhibition booths and socializing spaces.

The event is a complex one and will also include a virtual exhibition center where top IT and digital companies will be able to present their products, applications and technical solutions for the digitalization of one of the most conservative business domains within the Romanian economy.

The attendees will be able to interact in groups or in private in digital rooms and booths for a as close to reality as possible conference experience, including a live concert open to all participants.

Mihai Cărăbaș, partner lawyer with Cărăbaș, Lungu law firm, co-founder of ”Legal Accelerators” :„Legal Accelerators is an event that consolidates the position of Cluj Napoca as a major center for academic excellence and technological innovation and it was no wonder that our city was among the finalists of the European Capital of innovation 2020 competition. Traditionally, the Cluj University’s School of Law is considered to be among the best in the country, while for the past 15 years, Cluj-Napoca has built for itself a reputation as a major center for innovation in IT and new technologies. It was rather natural to bring the two together in a melting pot for digital applications and solutions meant to radically change the way in which legal advice and assistance is performed and the way in which the public administration interact with the citizens”

The event won the support of the Cluj-Napoca Townhall and Local City Council, the Society for the Digitalization of Romania, Romanian Bar Association (UNBR) and Romanian Public Notaries’ Association (UNNPR) as well as the European Legal Tech Association, while two major Transylvanian universities: Babes-Boylai and West University Timisoara are among the academic partners.

The speakers’ lineout is extremely reach, featuring the deans of the major Romanian law schools alongside professors and senior lecturers from several European and American universities IT and AI and data protection experts and even ethical hackers.
